Lock Out / Tag Out

The Lock Out / Tag Out Course is designed to instruct students about the role and responsibility of the employer that is required to develop and implement an energy control program (lock out/tag out) for the protection of workers who are performing service and maintenance activities on machines and equipment.  Detection of hazardous conditions and implementing the proper control measures related to the control of the hazardous energy will be discussed.  The course also assist students in the development and implementation of energy control programs, including development of written isolation procedures, training or authorized and affected employees, and periodic inspection of energy control procedures.  Topics include the understanding and application of definitions relating to OSHA’s control of Hazardous Energy Standard, types of hazardous energy, energy isolation options, written program requirements, and training guidelines.
